Solid Steel dumbbells are much smaller than cast iron, rubber, or urethane dumbbells. Due to a smaller design, solid steel is the preferred choice for serious training since the trainee has more balance and control while lifting the dumbbell. Other materials are just too big, long, and bulky. Serious training is done with Solid Steel dumbbells.
